dotCMS is currently seeking a Java Senior Support Developer. The Java Senior Support Developer performs both continuous development on our continually improving Long-Term-Supported (LTS) releases, and deep investigation and resolution of complex customer issues on the dotCMS platform. This position performs release builds, code investigation, bug fixes, backporting, and deep dives on technical issues and provides both short- and long-term solutions to a wide range of technical problems.
This isn’t a tedious position with a standard playbook – senior support developers work on new and complex issues, continually improving the product and code base to support sophisticated environments and use cases. We’re proud to be 100% remote! dotCMS has been fully remote for over a decade, and this is a full-time remote position, within standard European business hours. The position is open to candidates from any country in Central and Eastern Europe. Please note that applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US as a contractors and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visa at this time. For this position, we are accepting contractors or C2C candidates.

Why we get excited about you -
- 2+ years of web development experience in a professional work environment
- 2+ years experience using an IDE such as Eclipse, VSCode or Intellij
- 2+ years experience in Javascript development
- 2+ years of customer support or customer success experience
- Strong web design skills in HTML5 and CSS; SCSS and Bootstrap a plus
- Understanding of one or more modern Javascript frameworks such as Angular, React, Node.js, or Vue
- Ability to speak and write English fluently
- Enjoys working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field
Additional desirable experience
- Experience developing Java applications
- Professional use of Docker or other containerization platforms; Kubernetes a plus
- Development of CMS or Portal Systems such as Liferay or Adobe Experience Manager
- Debugging Java web applications
- Developing web services in REST
- Handling/parsing XML and JSON documents
- Administrating cloud-hosted environments; AWS a plus
- Professional use of Version Control Systems; GitHub and Zenhub a plus
- Experience with relational database administration or queries
